Maintenance of golf cart battery boxes is as important as the batteries themselves. Whenever you inspect the golf cart batteries, make it a point to check the battery box also. Inspect every corner, using a flash light, for possible leak of liquids. If any liquid is found in the box, it could be harmless plain water collected from a recent wash or rain or could be hazardous acid leaking from the battery. Ensure that before handling any further. Sometimes a loose or missing vent cap may cause some leakage that develops into a sort of corrosion. Check for such corrosions and clean the battery boxes thoroughly using a mixture of baking soda and water. Unchecked corrosion can cause some unwanted chemical reactions resulting in damage to the box and the batteries even.
